Passionate About Food? - International Supply Chain Graduate Programme

AB World Foods has an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Graduate based in our Supply Chain international location. Part of Associated British Foods (ABF) we are a diversified international food, ingredients and retail group with sales of £9.3 billion and 97,000 employees in 44 countries. abfoodsThis programme seeks to develop potential Senior Managers within the Supply Chain environment.  Each of these businesses has their own challenges and we aim to maintain and improve upon our market leading positions in each of them.

The programme is uniquely designed to offer you the opportunity to ‘learn through experience’; this means you do a real job from the start where you will receive coaching and feedback on a regular basis from your line manager and in addition, you benefit from the structured training and mentorship of the scheme.

ABWF offer an 18 month rotational programme where graduates will be in front line management roles with exposure to the entire supply chain. You will be responsible for making crucial decisions, running high value projects and working with a variety of people at a range of levels.

The programme is split into 3 rotations within Manufacturing, Logistics and Commercial - each lasting for about 6 months. During each rotation graduates will work on live projects where the results of their work can have a real effect on the business. You will have first hand exposure to the entire supply chain which could include: sourcing, purchasing, planning, manufacturing, warehousing and distribution. Graduates will have the opportunity to attend professional business, supply chain specific and soft skills training. 

Requirements

The supply chain is a results orientated, deadline driven working environment. You will need to be highly organised great at planning, prioritising and managing your time. You will need strong analytical skills, be comfortable working with figures, enjoy problem solving, have the ability to think logically and thrive on challenges and working under pressure to tight deadlines. You will also need to be flexible as overseas travel will be required.

You will also need:

  • Strong academic background
  • Minimum average 4.0 of final score
  • Practical ‘hands on’ work experience
  • Proven leadership potential
  • Organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent  communication skills
  • Drive for results, and confidence to ‘own’ projects
  • The permanent right to live and work in the EU (PSWV not accepted)
  • Geographical mobility – willing to relocate
  • Experience in working in a ‘shift pattern’ work environment/ willingness to work unusual hours (shift pattern will make up some of the graduate programme)
