General Inspection Programme

The General Inspection and your role:


The General Inspection Department, which works on behalf of General Management, conducts audit and advisory missions over all Societe Generale Group activities, in France and abroad. The Department has a young, international and gender-balanced team of inspectors, with around thirty recruited each year.

The key roles of the General Inspection are:


1. Conduct internal audit and advisory missions in several fields such as :

  • development strategy
  • the degree of risk management
  • human resource organisation and management
  • information systems and managing IT projects
  • quality of administrative management and accounting


2. Propose added value recommendations to top management

  • providing an assessment of risk management in the company
  • as a driving force for activity change in the short, medium or long-term by formulating operational recommendations

3. Take part in the Group’s strategic projects

  • evaluating targets for acquisition in France and abroad
  • preliminary studies before implementation of major projects
  • internal reorganisations, etc.

Your profile:


You have a degree from an engineering or business school or an institute of political studies, or you have a post-graduate qualification or a specialist master’s degree, from a French or international institution.


You have just started your carer and are recent graduate or about to graduate.

Your abilities:

 

  • analysing and summarizing;
  • technical and rigorous;
  • sense of responsibility;
  • adaptability and open-mindedness

The programme:

 

Initial training of 6months

  • Presentation of the Group and its core business
  • Specific training (financial analysis, risk management for credit institutions, audit techniques, etc.) and “field” internship in Societe Generale retail banking activities
  • Participation in missions (flexible workload, support by experienced inspectors)
  • Induction facilitated by a mentoring system involving Inspectors

Deputy Inspector (3 years)

  • Specialized seminars (financial markets, financial management, human resource management)
  • Behavioural seminars (interview techniques, management)
  • Participation in missions (as a team member and a first experience as a project leader)

Inspector (3 years)

  • Training in strategic analysis and extending banking expertise (business finance, market activity)
  • Developing managerial skills (managing employees, ad hoc internal training, 360° evaluation)
  • Seminar dedicated to top managers at a leading international university
  • Support in preparing for professional qualifications like CFA (optional)
  • Participation in missions (as a project leader)

Recruitment process:


Stage 1: Online application from 19th September 2011 until 6th January 2012
Stage 2: Written test 4th February 2012
Stage 3: The assessment centre Mid-March 2012
Stage 4: Oral test Mid-March to end April 2012
