Dynamic Volunteers needed for Warsaw Microfinance Conference 14-17 June

The European Microfinance Network (EMN) is an international non-profit association whose mission it is to promote microfinance in Europe as a tool to fight social and economic exclusion and to promote micro entrepreneurship and self-employment.

EMN will hold its 13th Annual Conference in Warsaw on 16 & 17 June 2016 and is looking for volunteers to support the EMN team with logistics. The purpose of the event is to be a meeting of minds, ideas and experiences and will bring together about 250 delegates from the European microfinance sector.
You can find out more about the conference on our event website here.
What We, the EMN team, are looking for volunteers (2-3) to join us for pre-conference preparation and also to support us during the 2-day event. (14-17 June)
The volunteer would provide logistical support, including but not limited to:

  • helping us prepare the venue,
  •  helping us prepare badges and goodie bags for participants,
  •  welcoming and registering guests,
  • assisting us during the various workshops and sessions (e.g. handing out microphones during Q&As, assisting the moderators etc.)

We are looking for well-organised, friendly and dynamic people who can be flexible with their time. The volunteer must also have a good level of English. Minimum age 18 and above. This would be a great opportunity for those interested in this domain to get a feel for the strengths and challenges of the European microfinance sector. The volunteers will also have the chance to participate in the different workshops, and be witness to the construction of a revised definition of European microfinance!

The event will take place at the Novotel Warszawa Centrum Hotel. The volunteers would be required to start on Tuesday 14th June, in the morning, and be with us until Friday 17th June, in the afternoon. Exact working hours are to be seen with the EMN team. This is an unpaid role, however EMN will cover the costs of local public transport, lunch at the hotel and, where applicable, dinner. Accommodation will not be provided so the volunteer should live within a reasonable distance from the Novotel Warszawa Centrum Hotel.

Contact Person
The volunteer’s contact person for the duration of the event will be Laure Kergal, who will delegate tasks as appropriate to the volunteers.

If you are interested, please send us a small paragraph about yourself along with your contact details to emn@european-microfinance.org by 28th May 2016.
